Things are getting freaky with a new feature on the menu at Viva La Cupcake in Roanoke.
The cupcake shop in the Crystal Spring Neighborhood in Virginia’s Blue Ridge recently added the “Viva La FreakShake” to its menu - a deliciously decadent cupcake infused milkshake!
The shop blends a whole cupcake into a milkshake and jazzes it up with dreamy cream topping and garnishes it with a unique assortment of toppings and a mini cupcake straw. It’s an Instagram worthy creation that will have all your followers drooling over their screens!
The milkshake consists of a cupcake, ice cream, coconut milk, and creme brulee cream.
Viva La Cupcake is known for its tasty cupcakes and unique flavors, and now visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy them through a straw.
Viva La Cupcake owner Pennie Ahuero is excited to be able to offer guests a “one-of-a-kind” experience. Places like Patissez in Australia and Black Tap in New York have become known for crazy shakes, but the Viva La FreakShakes are one-of-a-kind in that they feature the store’s amazing cupcakes.
The FreakShakes are served in a 16 oz. mason jar with a decorated rim. If you’re in a hurry, you can also order one to go in a 12 oz. plastic cup. The shakes are $4.95.
The shop menu rotates through a collection of over 200 different types of cupcake flavors and will unveil unique seasonal FreakShake flavors at different times of year. Recently, Margarita was the featured FreakShake in celebration of Cinco De Mayo.
Other featured flavors have included Oreo, S’Mores, Chocolate Raspberry, Banana Split, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Turtle, Orange Dream, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and the signature Viva La Cupcake.
There will be a couple different featured FreakShake flavors offered daily as the shop rolls out this new menu item and customers have the opportunity to provide feedback on their favorites.
If you’re looking for an extra serving of fun, you can also take your shake out to the new bar and patio space for Fork in the Alley, where you can get a shot of alcohol added to your drink.
You can also call ahead and make a large order of FreakShakes, which could be a great way to celebrate with a birthday party or special event at Viva La Cupcake in its adorable shop.
