Good things are brewing in the Town of Boones Mill with the opening of Hammer & Forge Brewing Company.
The new craft brewery in Franklin County is part of a growing landscape of craft beer in Virginia’s Blue Ridge, which is quickly becoming a hotspot for local and national breweries.
It’s a space that has been transformed from an old pharmacy to a modern, industrial-styled brewpub with a look that suits its blue collar name - Hammer & Forge. The 2,000 square-foot brewery seats approximately 65 and also features a small stage for music, as well as multiple TVs. There are also plans to add an outdoor patio space.
Owner Caleb Williamson says it’s his goal to always offer a variety of beers on tap that can accommodate a broad range of tastes, ranging from brews such as the Kellen’s Kilt Irish Red Ale (5.4 ABV) and Elder Mountain IPA (7.2 ABV) to Romanov’s Return Russian Imperial Stout (8.8 ABV) and the Lawless Kolsch (5.9 ABV), an homage to Boones Mill Town Manager Matt Lawless.
The brewery is also partnering with Chaos Mountain Brewing, another craft brewery in Franklin County, as part of a Forged by Chaos specialty series of beers.
Once a homebrewer, Caleb Williamson has poured his passion for brewing into Hammer & Forge Brewing Company with the goal of introducing locals and visitors to his unique takes on craft beer.
Hammer & Forge offers multiple sizes of pours, as well as beer flights, offering patrons the opportunity to find their favorite beers on tap.
Can’t get enough of your favorite? No problem. The brewery also offers features two different sizes of growlers.
