Our new July Spotify Playlist highlights the live music scene you can find this month in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia's Blue Ridge.

Each month, we update our playlist on Spotify to give you the opportunity to sample the sounds of the artists and bands who will be performing in the region.

July is a fantastic month for live music in Virginia's Blue Ridge. It's highlighted by FloydFest 16 - Dreamweavin', which takes place July 27-31, and features five days of performances from a broad range of musical styles and genres. Along with FloydFest, many of the premier outdoor venues in Virginia's Blue Ridge will host major acts in July.

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will get funky in Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke on July 2 as the headline band for the TAP Hope Festival. On July 13, Blues Traveler brings its distinct blues-rock sound to Virginia's Blue Ridge to perform at Dr Pepper Park. And rock legends Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo will perform in Elmwood Park on July 17 as part of the 2016 Budweiser Summer Series.

In Rocky Mount, the Harvester Performance Center continues to put the region on the map as a destination for live music. Some of the headline performances at The Harvester this month include The Marshall Tucker Band (July 16), Gin Blossoms (July 19), and James McMurtry (July 21).

For great live music in Downtown Roanoke, you can check out Blue 5, The Spot on Kirk, and Martin's Downtown Bar & Grill, which hosts performances nearly every night of the week.
