This tour is a great way to see a little while you taste a lot, plus it’s held rain or shine and appropriate for people of all abilities. The tour is available weekly from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday Brunch Tour
Sleep in late and then brunch with the gang in downtown Roanoke. It’s an excellent way to wrap up a fun weekend in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. From 11:15 a.m. until about 2:15 p.m., you and your crew will enjoy samples from five downtown locations. This is a walking tour, but the surfaces do provide accessibility to all who wish to join in.
Appalachian ‘Shine & Spirits Tour
“Moonshine, you say?” Yes indeed! There are two distilleries and one meadery on this five hour chauffeured tour through Virginia’s Blue Ridge. The beauty of this tour is that you can choose to go straight for the hard stuff or take it fancy as a cocktail. Not only that, you’ll be treated to behind-the-scenes access to learn about the history of moonshine and see how it’s made. You’re welcome to bring a picnic with you or partake in the snacks and water on the bus. This tour is offered select Saturdays and Sundays starting at 1 p.m., rain or shine. But of course, there’s always ‘shine. This is not an accessible tour.
Virginia’s Blue Ridge Hop-On Hop-Off Brewery Tour
This tour is a MUST for any craft beer lover. It’s totally customizable and a tour you can take over and over again. You decide where to “hop-off” and what to drink. Each stop has multiple tasting destinations and it's a great way to experience Virginia's Blue Ridge Cheers Trail. You choose ONE to spend an hour enjoying before the bus comes back around to take you to the next stop of choices. The tour is approximately five hours long and includes “hop-on” from select hotels or you can join the tour from the first brewery (provided you have a reservation). This tour is not accessible for those with mobile disabilities.
A Taste of Naples
At nearly three hours, this “tour” is one-stop-everything at Fortunato. Get your hands on the dough and sauce when you become the maker of your very own Neapolitan pizza, then add the pizazz with a classic Negroni cocktail. This bar and kitchen experience is offered select dates at noon. Accessibility for those with disabilities is limited for this tour.
Grandin Village Market to Table Tour
If you’ve ever wanted to know about selecting and preparing fresh foods from your local market, come shop ours! This tour is offered once a month in season and is hosted by Rockfish Food & Wine Restaurant. You’ll visit farmers at the Grandin Village Market while Chef shops for the meal ingredients. While he returns to the restaurant to whip up a meal, you’ll get a special tour of the neighborhood. Add an adult beverage to your farm-to-table meal, if you like. This opportunity has limited accessibility for those with mobility challenges.
Urban Scavenger Hunt
Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned scavenger hunt? This “tour” is a team-building activity that will test your wit and creativity, and then it’s topped off with a trophy for the winners. If you want good food and drinks, that can be arranged. The Urban Scavenger Hunt is available to private groups of 15 to 150 people, any day or time.
Blue Ridge Winery Tour
Want to skip the noshing and go straight for the drinking? Bring your friends along for a private, chauffeured tour to our area wineries. Tell Tour Roanoke which wineries you want to go to and they’ll do the driving. You’ll pay for your tastings and they’ll drive you and up to 13 of your closest friends. The bus is not handicap accessible.
