Have you tried BUSHI?
It's a new restaurant in Downtown Roanoke that is bringing the flavors of Asian fusion to Virginia's Blue Ridge!
This unique concept combines fresh ingredients and Hawaiian flavors with Japanese techniques for a fun, creative dining experience.
The menu specializes in sushi burritos and poke bowls.
Both items are already popular on the West Coast and in major cities around the country, but now BUSHI is introducing them to the Roanoke Valley in Virginia's Blue Ridge!
If you're not familiar with them, a sushi burrito is what it sounds like - sushi but in the form of a burrito! Your freshly prepared burrito is wrapped with wild pacific nori and rice and filled with a variety of fresh fish and other ingredients.
For example, the Bushi Special Burrito is filled with salmon, tuna, cilantro, butter lettuce, cucumbers, masago, avocado, crispy onions, bushi sauce and spicy mayo.
If a burrito sounds a little intimidating, opting for a poke bowl makes for a good introduction!
BUSHI provides the opportunity to build your own bowl so you can create the perfect combination of flavors you like. It starts with a base of rice and then you pick your proteins from options like smoked salmon, spicy tuna, broiled eel, and tofu. Next, choose from a selection of toppings that includes veggies like edamame, bell peppers, cucumbers, pickled carrots, kale, and seaweed salad. Top if off with a sauce such as chili sauce, spicy mayo, or unagi sauce, and you've put together a tasty, healthy, hearty bowl!
Prices for poke bowls and sushi burritos range from $8-$10.
Whether it's for a mid-day lunch or you're getting started for a night out, BUSHI is a great new addition to the local dining scene in Downtown Roanoke and yet another new type of cuisine for Virginia's Blue Ridge.
