The music scene in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia’s Blue Ridge is packed full of exciting live performances and concerts this month. We’ve updated our Spotify playlist to feature many of the acts you can expect to find this August.

Take advantage of the late nights of summer with some of the great outdoor concerts taking place in the region at Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke and the Daleville Town Center in Botetourt County.

The sounds of country music will be heard throughout Elmwood Park on August 7 with Lee Brice in concert. On August 20, the park will be feeling the good vibrations of Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys. You can jam out to additional beach music in the park every Thursday at Party in Elmwood.

The Daleville Town Center will host McKenzies Mill as part of the Sidewinders Summer Concert Series on August 6, Low Low Chariot for Flat Pickin’ Fridays on August 12, and great music every Thursday evening with its Party in the Park series.

In addition to the shows at Elmwood Park, there are many other great options for live music in Downtown Roanoke, including Martin’s Downtown Bar & Grill, The Spot on Kirk, Sidewinders Steakhouse & Saloon, and the two First Fridays events.

August will also be another big month for music at the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount. The Bacon Brothers on August 23, Webb Wilder & The Beatnecks on August 12, and Hal Ketchum on August 26 are some of the venue’s biggest shows this month.
