May is National Burger Month, which makes it the perfect time to indulge in the delicious craft burgers in Virginia's Blue Ridge.
We love our burgers in the Roanoke Valley, and you'll have a tough time deciding between all the exciting flavors and combinations at local restaurants you visit during your vacation.
Don't be overwhelmed by all the tasty options. We're here to help with a list of 8 craft burgers you can celebrate during National Burger Month, or any other time you visit Virginia's Blue Ridge!
1. The Cavalier
The Village Grill
Why pick between BBQ and burgers when you can have both at The Village Grill?! You don't have to be a University of Virginia graduate or LeBron James fan to enjoy The Cavalier. This classic Angus beef burger is topped with pulled pork, cheddar cheese, coleslaw and your choice of BBQ sauce.
2. Banh Mi Burger
Beamer's 25
Delicious burgers and craft beer are the focus at Beamer’s 25, which features memorabilia of legendary Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers at Beamer's, but we recommend the Banh Mi Burger.
This unique combination of a seasoned pork burger, cucumber, carrot, pickled ginger, cilantro and chili mayo is packed with flavor.
3. Caprese Burger
419 West
419 West features a taste of Italy with its Caprese Burger. The beef is cooked over a charcoal and mesquite wood fire grill and it's topped with house-made mozzarella, tomato, spinach and a reduced balsamic vinegar. Mangia!
4. The Greg Brady
Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint
Whether it's a mid-week lunch or late-night craving, Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint in Downtown Roanoke is the place to go for an outstanding burger. The Greg Brady features 100% all-natural Wagyu beef, house-made mac & cheese, and Martin's BBQ potato chips. You'll need two hands to tackle this delicious mess.
5. Angry Bird Burger
Wasena City Tap Room
With a wide selection of craft beers on tap and tasty options like the Angry Bird Burger, the Wasena City Tap Room is a great place to visit along the Roanoke River Greenway.
The Angry Bird is a turkey burger that offers some spice with a house-made habanero-jalapeno pimento cheese. It's also topped with lettuce, tomato, onion & sriracha mayo.
6. Black Truffle Patty Melt
Metro!
With its hip atmosphere and creative menu, it's no surprise that Metro! takes its version of a burger to a different level.
The Black Truffle Patty Melt is a gourmet experience, featuring a Kobe beef burger, melted Emmental cheese, sautéed mushrooms, crispy shallots, black truffle, and roasted garlic mayo on Japanese milk bread.
Update: Metro! is no longer in business.

Find a spot at the counter and order a "Cheesy" to receive a burger that features freshly cooked beef, American cheese, fried egg, mustard, and sweet relish.
