There are lots of great ways to enjoy the 4th of July and Independence Day in Virginia’s Blue Ridge in 2018!

As we celebrate the founding of our nation and our independence, while remembering those who’ve fought and sacrificed to defend our freedom, it’s a time of respect and honor while also sharing special moments with family and friends.

There are all kinds of fun activities in Virginia’s Blue Ridge, including a variety of fireworks shows and displays taking place over the course of multiple days.

Fireworks Celebration at Mountain Lake

Independence Day Festival in Rocky Mount

Time: Festival begins at 5:00 p.m.
Cost: Free   

65th Buchanan Community Carnival Fireworks

Date: July 4 | Full Carnival Dates: June 28 - July 7
Location: Town of Buchanan
Time: Gates open at 6:30 p.m. | Fireworks scheduled for 10:00 p.m.
Cost: Free

Salem Fair Fireworks

Date: July 4 | Full Fair Dates: July 3-15
Location: Salem Civic Center
Time: Gates open at 4:00 p.m. | Fireworks scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
Cost: Free

Vinton Fourth of July Celebration

Date: July 4
Location: Vinton War Memorial
Time: Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. | Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Cost: Free 

Fincastle 4th of July Fireworks

Date: July 4
Location: Breckinridge Elementary School
Time: 9:00 p.m.
Cost: Free

Roanoke’s Fireworks on the Fourth

Date: July 4
Location: River’s Edge Sports Complex
Time: Festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. | Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Cost: Free
