The Roanoke Valley in Virginia’s Blue Ridge is well represented in the 2017 Best of Virginia awards by Virginia Living magazine.

The Richmond-based magazine produces its Best of Virginia issue annually and winners are selected from an online reader survey. Over 50,000 ballots were cast for this year’s contest.

The state is divided into five regions (Southwest, Shenandoah Valley, Central, Northern, & Eastern) and participants could vote for winners in 105 different categories. Though the area we consider Virginia’s Blue Ridge is located in three different regions that were used for this contest, local winners can be found in the Southwest section of the magazine issue.
