The concert dates and performers for the 2016 Budweiser Summer Series in Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke have been announced!
For the second consecutive year, Downtown Roanoke, Inc. and Berglund Center are partnering together to bring a fantastic collection of musical artists to Virginia's Blue Ridge for this exciting summer concert series.
The 2016 summer series will feature three shows, with classic R&B group Blackstreet kicking off the fun on June 24. The multi-platinum group is best known for its 1996 chart-topping single No Diggity.
The June 24th concert will also feature Tony! Toni! Toné! and After 7 as the opening acts.
Music fans will then get an opportunity to turn back the clock on July 17 with a show by rock 'n' roll legends Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. The duo won a Grammy Award for Love is a Battlefield and Benatar will always be one of the most iconic voices of the 1980s.
British born rock star John Waite will open for Giraldo and Benatar.
Elmwood Park will turn country for the third concert in the Summer Series as Lee Brice takes the stage on August 7. Brice arrived on the country music scene with his She Ain't Right debut single in 2007 and has had numerous titles reach the top of the Billboard Hot Country charts, including Love Like Crazy and I Drive Your Truck. He's also been nominated for multiple Grammy and CMA awards.
Brice's show will be opened by Tucker Beathard, another new name to watch on the country music scene over the next few years.
Tickets for all three shows go on sale on April 29th at 10:00 a.m. and can be purchased through the Berglund Center. Tickets will be available online, via phone, or at the Berglund Center box office. Tickets will be $35 per person, and it's free for children ages 6 and under.
