We’re finishing summer strong with lots of fun events in Virginia’s Blue Ridge!
August is Virginia Craft Beer Month and there are multiple beer festivals where you can celebrate accordingly in Virginia’s Blue Ridge, plus a great selection of concerts and other special events on the calendar.

Salem Civic Center - August 1-5
If you’re a fan of dogs, you’ll love seeing the 5,000 dogs representing 145 different breeds competing at the 22nd annual Mountain Valley Cluster Dog Show at the Salem Civic Center. The 5-day event will include competitions, a variety of vendors and products, opportunities to try different activities, and Dock Diving performances.
Attic Productions - August 2-11
Nice Work If You Can Get It by Attic Productions is a musical comedy written by Tony Award winning author Joe DiPietro. It’s a story that features many of the best things in life - music, laughter and the experience of falling in love.
Berglund Center - August 4
Are you ready for the biggest single day Comic Con event in Virginia?! This exciting event at Berglund Center will include more than 100 vendors, comics, artists, cosplay, as well as special appearances by “Hawkman” from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and “Mr. Clarke” from Stranger Things!
Green Hill Park - August 4

Jeter Farm on the James - August 10
Morgan Wallen is an up-and-coming artist in the country music industry and he’s gained notoriety from his collaborations and touring with Florida Georgia Line. On August 10, Wallen will take the Farm Credit of Virginia stage at Jeter Farm for what will be a fun evening of country music.

Berglund Center - August 10
With a career that has spanned 40 years, Vince Gill has won nearly every major award in country music, including 21 Grammy Awards and an induction to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Downtown Roanoke - August 11

Explore Park - August 11
Artisan Saturday is the perfect opportunity to spend your day at Roanoke County’s Explore Park at Milepost 115 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The event is a celebration of local artisans and makers with numerous live demonstrations, informative presentations, and other fun activities.
Chateau Morrisette - Nancy Morrisette Festival Field - August 11
Make it a Blue Ridge Day of wine tasting, food, arts & crafts, and beach music that’ll get everyone moving at Chateau Morrisette Winery’s Black Dog Beach Music Festival. There will be live music by The Fantastic Shakers and The Embers.
Berglund Center - August 12
The biggest stars in wrestling will enter the ring at Berglund Center as the WWE SummerSlam Heatwave Tour makes its way to Virginia’s Blue Ridge! The event will feature fan-favorites like Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, and Nia Jax.
12. Cirque du Floyd
Chantilly Farm Campground - August 17-18
There’s something for everyone at the circus, and the 2nd annual Cirque du Floyd at Chantilly Farm is a blend of modern cirque elements with traditional circus arts. Prepare to be dazzled by acrobats, musicians, clowns, contortionists and much more at this riveting two-day event!
Elmwood Park - August 17
The B-52s are an American New Wave band known for hits like Love Shack, Rock Lobster and Roam. Catch them in concert in Elmwood Park on Friday, August 17 as part of the Budweiser Summer Concert Series.
Downtown Rocky Mount - August 17-18
The annual Warren Street Festival celebrates African American history in Franklin County and honors the extraordinary people who’ve impacted the community. The two-day festival includes a car show, parade, live music, and various vendors at the Rocky Mount Farmers Market.
15. Creekfest 2018
Twin Creeks Brewing Company - August 18
Twin Creeks Brewing Company hosts Creekfest 2018 at the Vinton Farmers Market for a full afternoon and evening of live music, food, and, of course, local craft beer! The brewery is even creating a special release beer that will be tapped for the event.
Salem Civic Center - August 18
With his talents as a comedian, musician, singer and writer, Rodney Carrington reaches a wide audience with his unique style and wit. He brings his talents to Virginia’s Blue Ridge for a performance at the Salem Civic Center on Saturday, August 18.
17. ZZ Top
Berglund Center - August 21
ZZ Top has been producing music for nearly 50 years and has become an iconic band in American rock music with chart-topping hits like Sharp Dressed Man and Gimme All Your Lovin’. Get your tickets and get ready to rock out at this Berglund Center show.
Green Hill Park - August 25
Weight throw? Scottish hammer throw? Caber toss?! The events are no joke at the annual Green Hill Highland Games, where participants don their kilts and participate in traditional Scottish heavy athletics and strength competitions.
Dr Pepper Park at The Bridges - August 25
