Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation to implement a comprehensive storytelling campaign. The campaign is directed to enhance the region's marketing efforts by building brand awareness and showcasing stories/experiences, images and video through content marketing. These stories will focus on Outdoor Recreation, Family Fun and Arts/Culture/Entertainment in Virginia's Blue Ridge and will be promoted through Blogging, Social Media and Native Advertising. The goal is to funnel potential visitors to the official destination website.

A partnership with Comcast was established to include cable television spots, online video and messaging on The Weather Channel. These spots will air in Richmond, Roanoke/Lynchburg and Northern Virginia with an estimated 12 million impressions.
