USA Today brings out a retro side of Roanoke in the recent GO Escape Magazine 2016 Winter Getaway Guide.  Authors Diane Bair and Pamela Wright tell readers “what’s old is cool in this vibrant mountain town” referencing attractions like Roanoke’s very own Texas Tavern, serving world-famous chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, and cheesy westerns since 1930, and the new Pinball Museum, an featuring a slew of interactive pinball machines that range from the 1930s-1990s, inside downtown Roanoke's Center in the Square.
