Virginia’s Blue Ridge in the Spotlight

The Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau ended the public relations calendar year on a high note with "Autumn in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Country" reported by Kay and David Scott in the Valdosta Sunday Times. Then, we started 2013 with a "Breath of Fresh Air" by Nancy Moreland in Jacksonville Magazine. Nancy also contributed to TravelSmart Newsletter highlighting the region as part of the City Insider Report.   These publications alone reached households in Georgia, Florida and New York.  The journalists visited the region last fall and "discovered Roanoke to be a vibrant city set in a gorgeous valley that offers a number of interesting day trips."   Impressions of our mountain destination have grown substantially over the past two years surpassing a total circulation of nearly 105 million and an advertising equivalency of $1.4 million.
