Roanoke in Virginia’s Blue Ridge was highlighted in a recent online article in The Guardian, the popular international news outlet.

Our charming city in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains is mentioned in “10 of the Best Small Towns in the US: Readers’ Travel Tips.”

Roanoke was featured along with other U.S. destinations such as Marfa, Tex., Essex, Conn., and Beaufort, S.C.

The section about our region describes Roanoke as:

“A quaint town that serves as gateway for some serious hiking and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway.”

There are also mentions of many unique local businesses and experiences, including Little Green Hive Coffee & Smoothie Bar, Sweet Donkey Coffee House, Center in the Square, Mill Mountain Theatre, and the Historic Roanoke City Market.

You can see the complete list by checking out the article on The Guardian website.

It’s the second time Virginia’s Blue Ridge has recently been highlighted in The Guardian, which also published an extensive piece about the area in October 2016. Click here to learn more about this great feature by Robert Hull.
