Experience the adventure, pageantry, magic and romance of medieval times at Roanoke County'sGreen Hill Park. On Saturday September 24th from 10AM to 6PM and Sunday September 25th from 10AM to 5PM upon the spacious verge you will find fluttering flags and festive tentage of merchants offering wares from mystical lands and times. This year's faire promises to be like no other. Revisit history made reality as several living history exhibitors display life in the Middle Ages. Knights in full armor will be on site and there will be demonstrations from wool spinners, archers and blacksmiths. Also, newfound to the faire this year are a lad who swallows swords, a magician, and total merriment brought by the antics of the captivating Horse Guy. The Royal Adviser and Royal Huntsman's presentation will include an armor demonstration, to be featured during the Knighting Ceremony conducted at the Royal Pavilion. Throughout the day ye will smell the luscious aromas of treats, experience laughter, music and merriment, colorful dancers, nobles, ladies, knights, and of course the sounds of the haunting bagpipes.

The Highland Games will return on Saturday September 24th. Athletes of varying skill levels willcompete in seven challenging and varied categories. Ye won't want to miss the incredible feats ofagility and strength by these talented athletes! Also on Saturday beginning at 5PM a Masquerade Ball will begin with Her Majesty's Royal Pageant; dress for the ball if ye so desire and learn the refined art of hand kissing, engage in the wooing contest and learn the dances from days of old charm.

Each day children of all ages are invited to play imaginative games such as Ratapult, Sheep Toss,Dragon Droppings, Unicorn Ring Toss, Boar Hunt, and Pole Jousting. Take a step back into time,bring the whole family and make a little "history of your own"!
