More  than  250  of  the  country's finest artists and craftsmen will bring their  original  designs and creations to the Roanoke Civic Center, October 14 - 16, for the 24th annual Craftsmen's Fall Classic.

There will be free admission and free parking to the nationally-award-winning event, with requests for visitors to bring non-perishable  food items to be distributed throughout the area by Feeding America  Southwest Virginia. In 2010, Fall Classic patrons contributed more than 25,000 pounds of food, plus cash donations, to benefit the food bank's member agencies as they helped the homeless and the hungry.

Throughout  the  weekend,  visitors  can  see contemporary and traditional, functional  and whimsical treatments of pottery, jewelry, glass, furniture, fine  art,  photography,  sculpture,  metalwork,  folk art, clothing, toys, musical instruments, wood, and much more, including specialty foods.   They will also have the unique opportunity to meet the artists and craftsmen and find out how and why they do what they do.  There will be handcrafted, one-of-a-kind  choices  for  every  style,  taste  and  budget,  for  gifts (including  those for the upcoming holidays), home accessories, collections and personal treasures.

The  Craftsmen's  Fall Classic, produced by Gilmore Shows, has consistently been  named  to  the "100 Best" Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows by the prestigious Sunshine Artist Magazine, which voted it #4 in Virginia and #17 in  the  nation  this year.  It has also been a "Top 20 Event" selection by the Southeast Tourism Society.
