Voting ended Saturday at 6:00pm and
Roanoke received 34% of the votes!

Clear indications show Roanoke as the unofficial winner of the "Best Mid-Sized Mountain Town" poll.  Supporters of the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, Roanoke Regional Partnership, City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine readers and many more cast nearly 11,000 votes for Roanoke.  Thank you to everyone who voted to show their pride in Virginia's Blue Ridge.

Other cities competing in the same category with populations of 10,000 - 99,000, including their voting percentages, were Asheville, NC (28%), Morgantown, WV (11%), Charlottesville, VA (9%), Boone-Blowing Rock, NC (7%), Tri-Cities (Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol), TN (3%), Harrisonburg, VA (3%), Cumberland, MD (2%), Berea, KY (1%) and Lynchburg, VA (1%).

Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine will officially announce the winners, including categories of "Best Small Mountain Town" (population less than 10,000) and "Best Outdoor City" (population of 100,000 or greater), in their upcoming November 2012 issue.   Copies will be available at the Roanoke Valley Visitor Information Center, open daily 9:00am - 5:00pm.
