“Virginia’s Blue Ridge is privileged to host an event of this caliber. Virginia has been home to motorcycle lovers for years and we are excited to welcome H.O.G. members from not only the region but around the world to Virginia’s Blue Ridge today, in June for the H.O.G. Rally, and in the future,” stated Landon Howard, President of Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
A small taste of Virginia is for Motorcycle Lovers is exactly what was delivered during the press conference as an array of Harley-Davidson’s spread across Mill Mountain at the Roanoke Star & Overlook. Riding up the mountain to attend the announcement, representatives from Harley-Davidson Motor Company stepped off their bikes just in time for Jo Ann Emmons, H.O.G. Regional Rally Coordinator, to invite motorcycle enthusiasts to join her in Virginia’s Blue Ridge in June of 2017.
“We are looking forward to bringing the ‘Merging Mountains H.O.G. Rally’ to Virginia. Roanoke was the obvious choice for this rally,” Todd “THOR” Robinson, H.O.G. Regional Manager said. “They have an experienced committee combined with a community that truly welcomes motorcycle riders. Within a short ride you can reach out to 27 or more mountainous areas, thus the reason for selecting our name, Merging Mountains – bringing the community and riders together.” The riding is unbelievable and the “friendships” made last a lifetime.
Plans for the 2017 Merging Mountains H.O.G. Rally are already underway and include a “Kick-off” theme night at the Salem Red Sox baseball stadium, unlimited self-guided rides and numerous guided rides each day of the event, live music, entertainment, a poker-run throughout the area, tours to wineries, restaurants, breweries, bike show, with more surprises in the works.
