The Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau (Roanoke Valley CVB) launched a new regional destination mobile website that serves as an instant, interactive guide to the region for leisure travelers.  This mobile website, available on smartphones at www.visitroanokeva.com welcomes visitors to browse hotels, restaurants and things to do as well as discover special offers all instantaneously.  This location based technology searches for nearby listings and the data will appear with the closest business or service near them.  The site provides easy integration with your phone’s mapping software for ease in obtaining directions.

"The Roanoke Valley is the region’s largest destination off the Blue Ridge Parkway and will now be considered a high-tech destination.  This generation of mobile technologies invites our visitors to experience that first-hand," said Landon Howard, Executive Director for the Roanoke Valley CVB.  "Travelers want to experience this region in many ways, so it’s important to us to offer and update our information via current media channels.  We developed this tool to adapt to the changing needs and expectations of travelers who increasingly turn to mobile devices to gather information about their destination."
