The Appalachian Mountaineer is a ride to explore the rugged beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Appalachian Mountaineer has been created by the founders of the original Appalachian Journey.
2021 takes all of the best parts, adds in professional timing, start categories and times, and swaps slower chunky course segments for some grade A mountain valley and ridgeline rolling.
Featuring narrow forest roads, old rail beds, and of course the now famous ridgeline exposure of Bald Knob.
The host for the weekend is the Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing and they will be nourishing your bellies and spirits throughout the weekend.
In addition to the lodging provided by Wilderness Adventure, you can also take advantage of nearby lodging options in Botetourt County and the City of Salem, which are both featured on the map below.
This year racers can choose from 85, 65, and 22 mile courses. Categories are limited to Open men, women, masters (40+) and Singlespeed.
There will be 3 on-course aid stations to keep you refreshed and rolling.
