Buchanan Swinging Bridge, James River Drip & Twin River Outfitters

Take a stroll across one of the region’s most unique historic landmarks, the Buchanan Swinging Bridge. The historic bridge is 366 feet long, 57.5 feet tall and the only one of its type to cross the James River. Portions of the bridge date back to 1851!

Before you head across the bridge, grab coffee or an ice cream cone at James River Drip! While you are in Downtown Buchanan, make sure to visit Twin River Outfitters for all of your water adventures on the Upper James River Water Trail

Foot Of The Mountain Café and Buchanan Theatre

“Good food. Good view. Good people” is owners Brian and Nina Williams’ moto. But after having dinner at the Foot of the Mountain Cafe, we are sure you will agree it should be “Great food. Great view. Great people!” After dinner take in a movie at the Historic Buchanan Theatre for a small price - $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 12.
