Nearly 1.9 million acres offer one of the greatest concentrations in the Southeast. Recreation areas range from highly developed to the isolated solitude of the wilderness. Hours of Operation: With few exceptions, the forest is open 24 hours a day. Admission Fee: Admission cost varies depending on the area or facility.
