Motorcoach Directions

The Virginia's Blue Ridge Visitor Information Center in Downtown Roanoke is a popular stopping point for buses and motorcoach tours.

Getting to the Visitor Information Center is simple, and it provides easy access to all the fantastic activities and amenities of Downtown Roanoke.

The following directions will help guide you to the Visitor Center.

Roanoke-Visitor-Center

Interstate 81

  • From Interstate 81, take Exit 143 onto Interstate 581 South toward Downtown Roanoke.
  • Take Exit 5 to Wells Avenue.
  • The exit ramp will split - proceed right and take a right on Wells Avenue (The Historic Hotel Roanoke is straight ahead).
  • At the stop sign, take a left on Jefferson Street.
  • At the next stop sign, take a left on Shenandoah Avenue.
  • The Visitor Information Center is the building on the right, formerly the Norfolk & Western Railway Passenger Station. You will see our upper driveway and we suggest pulling up to the front of the building just past the second set of doors.

Via US 220 North

  • Take Exit 4 East off Interstate 581/Route 220 North to Orange Avenue (also Route 460 East).
  • At the light take a right on Williamson Road (Berglund Center is on your right).
  • Proceed to the third stop light at Wells Avenue and take a right. The Historic Hotel Roanoke is straight ahead.
  • At the stop sign, take a left on Jefferson Street.
  • At the next stop sign, take a left on Shenandoah Avenue.
  • The Visitor Information Center is the building on the right, formerly the Norfolk & Western Railway Passenger Station. You will see our upper driveway and we suggest pulling up to the front of the building just past the second set of doors.

The Visitor Information Center (101 Shenandoah Avenue NE, Roanoke, VA 24016) is open from 9:00am - 5:00pm, seven days a week.
