| When you need the perfect location to host a sporting event, there is no competition.
The Roanoke Valley has an array of sporting venues that attract national organizations and youth
sports such as AAU. The Roanoke Valley and, specifically, the City of Salem, also
called the City of Championships, host numerous sporting events, including the NCAA
Division III football, softball, and basketball championships as well as the NCAA Division
II Softball Championship.
Our location and ease of access combined with the multitude of hotels within close
proximity to playing sites (gymnasiums, baseball and softball fields, and soccer fields)
make us "a natural place to play." Experienced tournament directors and facility managers
and their ability to obtain sponsors and volunteers are a major contributor to the success
